The Jedlicka Performing Arts Center is proud to hold auditions for the first show of its 2007/2008 Season, the Premiere Chicago Production of the acclaimed 2005 Tony Award-Nominated Broadway musical LITTLE WOMEN.

Based on Louisa May Alcott's own family experiences (and novel), LITTLE WOMEN, follows the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March as they grow up in Civil War America. The beloved story of the March sisters is timeless and deals with issues as relevant today as when they were written. Now, this wonderful narrative has been brought to life as an exhilarating new musical filled with glorious music, dancing and heart. LITTLE WOMEN embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears, and a lifting of the spirit. This powerful score soars with the sounds of personal discovery, heartache and hope -- the sounds of a young America finding its voice.

May 21, 2007 from 7:00pm – 10:30pm at the Jedlicka Performing Arts Center

May 22, 2007 from 7:00pm – 10:30pm at the Jedlicka Performing Arts Center

WHAT: Actors must come prepared with two contrasting songs (no more than 16 bars) that show their range, power and confidence. Please bring sheet music as an accompanist will be provided. Be prepared to learn a short movement combination and read from the script. The JPAC is seeking to cast 4 Men and 6 women; plus an ensemble to play various roles throughout the show.

The show will run from August 3rd through August 18th, 2007.

There is a paid stipend for this production.

WHERE: The Jedlicka Performing Arts Center is located at 3801 South Central Avenue, just one block north of the I-55 Stevenson. It is also accessible by public transportation.
