Coma Comedy Plays at JPAC

(Cicero) - The Jedlicka Performing Arts Center is proud to present the award-winning comedy A Year in the Death of Eddie Jester beginning Friday, February 19th at their beautiful 250-seat theatre in Cicero. The play by T. Gregory Argall, won the 2002 Samuel French Canadian Playwrights Contest and since then has enjoyed successful productions all over North America.

This production is by special arrangement with Samuel French, who describes the play as follows: ”Stand up comic Eddie Jester has been mugged and is comatose. His disembodied spirit offers up jokes and commentary on the events transpiring in his hospital room, including the simultaneous visit to his bedside of his wife and his girlfriend and some nonmedical doctor/nurse activities. Eddie's semi posthumous examination of life, love and human relationships provides funny and poignant insights while the duplicity of his agent, revelations about his father and the births of two children demonstrate to Eddie that sometimes even your own life carries on without you.”

A Year in the Death of Eddie Jester stars Michelle Ziccarelli and Lise “Kat” Evans of Wheaton, Peter Chorzepa of Cicero and Chicagoans Shane Michael Murphy, Eric Loughlin, Michael Jay Bullaro and Sarah Grant. Eddie Jester is directed by Dante J. Orfei, with Scenic Design by Michael Nedza and Costume Design by Joelle Beranek. The play is produced by Eddie Sugarman.

Eddie Jester opens Friday February 19th at 7:30pm at the Jedlicka Performing Arts Center in Cicero. It plays Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30pm and Sundays at 3pm through March 6th. Tickets are $8 - $15 and are available on-line at www.jpactheatre.com, or by calling JPAC’s box-office at 708-656-1800.
